On Sat, 3 Jul 2004 06:36:00 -0700, "Gary" <(E-Mail Removed)> spewed forth these
words of wisdom:
>I'm copying home made discs through Windows Media and
>converting files to MP3 or WMA. These are old radio
>concerts I recorded, not store bought cd's. When the
>discs get copied to my system, they get copied as UNKNOWN
>NAME and UNKNOWN ARTISTS. I can rename the cd's through
>the Windows Media Library, and I can also rename my
>folders. But, when copying the files back to a disc,
>they get copied again as UNKNOWN NAME and UNKNOWN
>ARTISTS. Now, when I use Creative Soundlab on my other
>computers, I can name the disc BEFORE it gets copied.
>This means that the disc gets recognized as the name and
>title that I gave BEFORE it gets copied. How can I do
>this through Windows Media? At this point I have a
>compilation of MP3 files as UNKNOWN NAME and UNKNOWN
>ARTISTS. I would like to know what I'm listening to!
>Any help anyone can provide would be greatly
>appreciated. Thanks.
Use CDex, a free CD ripper. It should not give you any problems.
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
If you want an excellent media player (and a damn fine ripper as well), try
Quintessential Player.
http://www.quinnware.com/
Both are FREE.
