2007 or 2003 Office. I cannot move the outlook.pst file to another hard dive
for back up. It keeps telling me that there is not enough room on the hard
drive. The file was 17 gigs and I have broken it down and now is a little
over 8 gigs. In the past I was able to copy and paste to a back up hard
drive. The laptop I have using has plenty of room and the transfer hard drive
has plenty of room. Can anyone please help me.

How exactly are you trying to move the file?

You had a .pst file that was 17GB in size? OUCH grande!

You then "broke it down" - whatever that is supposed to mean but only to
you - to 8GB in size.

Then you tried to move the .pst file to another hard drive but got an
error that there was not enough free disk space there. Guess you'll
have to open more free space on the target drive before you can copy ANY
file that size.

Don't see how a file move problem is an Outlook issue. If you don't
have the free space needed on the target drive to copy the 8GB .pst file
then you don't have the free space needed to copy ANY file that size.

Your subject line says "...8 megs..." but the text of your message talks
in terms of gigs. Which one is it? What does "2007 or 2003 Office" mean?
Which one do you have? You really need to do something about the size of
your pst...even 8 gigs is nuts (assuming you really meant gig).

Have you exited from Outlook before trying to copy the pst file? If you
have, make sure there isn't an Outlook process running.Otherwise, maybe
the pst is corrupt. Have you run scanpst on it?
