Got a remote server that I cannot log into.
Using windows 2000 server with TS in admin mode
I get the error
The system has reached its licensed logon limit.

Is there anyway to get in remotely. Or is there any way to prevent all the licenses from being used up.

Can you run Terminal Services Manager (TSAdmin.exe) and see who's logged into the server? It could be a disconnected session that's been hanging around since Bill was a little boy or something. Right-click and Reset to kill them.

You should be able to this from any station if they're a server or a workstation with the Admin Pack installed.

Does this help?

And always try the MS KB first before posting.
The answer is probably already posted.

I do not have physical access to the box nor do I have access to the network. It is TS over the net. So I cannot run
TSAdmin. I have 2003 servers in my main office and they do not have this problem that 2000 does. The /console
option does not always seem to work in 2000. Not sure why.

First, W2K doesn't have /CONSOLE functionality. It appears only on W2K3.

Next, what do you mean you can't run TSAdmin? It is an application on any server and/or other with the AdminPak. It doesn't require TS to get to the server. It will talk directly to the TS subsystem.

I don't understand the phrase "It is TS over the net". Could you explain in more detail.

port 3389 is port forwarded on the router to the server. There is no VPN so this is the only way to remotely administer
the domain. I am no physically in the office so the TSAdmin will not work in my case unless I was plugged into the
local network. Thats too bad about the no console option. It solves this problem for 2003. I guess I got spolied with
2003.
