I have a problem. W2k starts up fine. When I hit
ctrl/alt/del and log on, the system starts to log me on,
but then immediately logs me off again. I cannot do
anything and it just ends up with the log on prompt
again. Please help if you can.

Are you able to logon in safe mode ok?
If so, look in the event logs for any problems and let us know.

No, I'm not. I have tried to log on after starting up in
safe mode, or with last known good configuration. The
moment I log on, it logs me off immediately. I have tried
to log on as adminstrator or as a different existing user,
but no luck. I use the laptop at home and the only
connection is to highspeed cable internet (Disconnected at
this point). I do not use any other network connections.
