Cannot log into xp, no domain list!

Hi,

I wanted to change the name of my PC so I dis joined from the domain, changed the name and then rebooted. I thought I could log into windows using cached credentials but it seems I can't. I am wondering if there is a way to join the domain through windows recovery/dos. I can't reinstall windows because there is too much data that I don't want to lose and it is also a business specific image of xp.
