Hi.

New user here. So this may be a bit vague.

I was trying to repair SmitFraud and needed to load windows safemode.
Everytime i try to load the SAFEMODE it halts after a list of drivers are
attempting to load.

Do i need to repair the boot.ini file or what is going on here that i cannot
load windows xp safemode.

anyhelp would be appreciated.

First I would try booting to the Recovery Console prompt, and run the command:
chkdsk /r
If no help, I would do a Repair setup of XP.

it is likely that you were
successful at cleaning out
the offending file with
that program.

however, it may have been
a system file or files that
were corrupted, especially
if they created a hole in your
security.

the best thing to do is to
"repair" your windows that
will replace or repair corrupted
system files with genuine ones.

the repair will preserve your
registry and personal files and
maintain the functionality of
third party software.

however, if there is/are programs
that do not function after the repair,
you may think twice before installing
them again, as they may be the
ones to have corrupted your system.
