XPhome SP3 all up to date.

Recently started getting this message popping up for no apparent reason:

" Cannot load dialogue. Error 623 The system could not find the phone book
entry for this connection."

I am connected by ethernet cable to broadband via router and all seems to be
working well except for this pop up which doesn't seem to be associated with
any 'phone book requests' of my own.

The only other odd thing I notice is the interrupts appearing to take up a
large proportion of the cpu from time to time, which I've asked about
separately.

Ah, may have jumped too soon. Was looking at network connections rather
than internet options and it looks like my connection options have been
reset somehow - possibly when I tried tethering my BlackBerry a while ago.
I've put it back to 'never dial a connection'. Funny how it only just
started with the pop ups though. Possibly the BB does something to it when
I plug it in to charge it.

If you have a broadband modem that uses a phonebook entry to establish a
dial-up connection.

You could do worse than locate the [.pbk] file that contains all the
settings you see when you click on the "Properties" page for a dial-up
connection in the "Network Connections" folder.

Then back-up the file.

I find this [.pbk] file (PhoneBooK file) located in the following directory
on my system.

c:\documents and settings\all users\application
data\microsoft\network\connections\pbk

I have used the backup file to restore my dial-up connection settings when
I myself have "plugged in the wrong BB charger" (or, in my case it's a
Nokia N70 ).

Thanks once again Tim,

There is indeed a 'ras phonebook' and it is for a Nokia bluetooth modem:
which, as far as I know, has never been used, but there have been various
Nokia synchronising prog/suits on here, so perhaps this is one of those
issues where the computer remembers what was in what usb port, and
occasionally might think the BB was the Nokia depending on which port I plug
it; whether it's wi-fi was turned on etc.
