Cannot launch WD with runas

Hi Folks,

I'm usually logged into Windows (XPP SP2) with a limited user account (LUA). I
use runas whenever I need to do something that requires administrative powers.

When I launch the WD interface while logged in as LUA, some of the buttons in
Software Explorer are grayed out.

When I try to launch the WD interface using runas administrator, it errors out:

"Application failed to initialize: 0x80070005. Access is denied."

Is there a solution short of closing all apps, logging out of Windows and
logging back in as admin?

Thanks!

Frank

Look at Tools | Options
Scroll all the way to the bottom

Are both boxes checked there under Administrator options?

Both boxes are already checked. But as the help file states:

"To use some Software Explorer options, you must be logged on as an
administrator or be a member of the Administrators group."

Any other thoughts?

I'm sorry but no I don't. However there are others in this newsgroup much
more knowledgeable than I.

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administrator.
This is the key!
The installation as an admin is not enough.
You needed to login as an Administrator.
