Cannot intsall Flight Sim X Deluxe

i had the standard Flihgt Sim X installed along with the Service Pak 1 for
it. I am unable to remove the old Flight Sim completely. I get an error
message asking me if I want to update Flight Sim. When I go to remove
programs, there is no remove button for the Flight Sim program just a remove
for the service pak. When I try to remove the service pak, it says that this
patch program cannot be opened.
