Cannot install or play cd, dvd

Should I have an e drive? Cannot install, play dvd cd. I go to my computer
and says I have drive c and d but doesnt let me play or e ven say it is in
there....I was able to just recently as a week ago...dont know problem,
please help

Does it list the D: drive as a hard disk drive? Or rather, when you had the
CD drive listed, was it E: then?

If the drive itself is no longer showing up you may want to check and make
sure all cables and power connections are securely connected to the drive
inside the PC. If they are you could try using a different ribbon cable and
power connector and see if the drive is listed then.

how do I check my ribbon cable or if cables are connected to drive....Do I
check inside the tower or outside in the back. I checked the back..its good

Thank you so much, I have been getting earfull from wife and been stressing
out all day-you saved my day, I no longer am designated to the couch tonight
