I have just completed my 10 install of XP Pro, all on ASUS
MBs, Though this last one has me beat.... Try as I might I
cannot get it to accept the driver for the monitor no
error it just does not even attempt to use the install
file all I get is the microsoft option and nothing else.

I have tried to install new hardware but there is no
option for monitor, I have tried the display properties
and the also using the install disk that came with the
monitor (LG 17) nothing works.

The most confusing thing is that the machine is identical
to machine number one in same local, ie: same MB, monitor,
memory, keyboard, mouse, CD/WR, floppy and hard drive.

Stumped?????

If you have the driver inf file on the disk that came with the monitor,
then you can do it manually. go to device mgr to update the driver, just
point the update driver wizard to the location of the inf file you want
to use.

It is the responsibility of the video card drivers to detect and install the
proper monitor identification file.

Go the the monitor manufacturer and download the proper INF for your
monitor. But be warned, if your video card isn't recognizing the monitor, it
will change back to Standard VGA Monitor everytime you update the video card
drivers. (Unless, of course, they haven't be updated in the first place.)

Remember that the drivers that come with your devices are almost never the
latest drivers out there.
