I'm getting the following error in XP Home Edition SP2
from the "Found New Hardware Wizard" when trying to
install my scanner or my digital video camera on my newly
built computer.

"Cannot Install this Hardware

There was a problem installing this hardware:
(HP Scanjet 4570c/5500c or Samsung DVC SCD27)

An error occurred during the installation of the device

The required section was not found in the INF."


It doesn't matter how many times or methods I use to
uninstall and reinstall the driver(s). Both pieces of
hardware have installed flawlessly on other XP
installations. I've never seen this error before and don't
understand the cause. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm also getting some other unexpected problems with this
new system, including blue-screen STOP errors, and I can't
seem to add any scanners or cameras with the "Scanners and
Cameras Wizard".

Does anyone have any insight?

You may want to try a "repair installation" of XP.

BTW: SP2 is still not release to the general public!
