When i try to install MS Frontpage 2002 it tells me that
it cant locate a valid qualification product, and gives me
an error 1608 then closes prematurely. does anyone know
what that means? please email with any help. thanks.

thanx kathlen for the advice, but that still wont let me
install the program. i noticed that it also said if this
trick didnt work i would have to return the software for
a full version. i've installed this on another system
running Windows ME and it works fine. what do you think?

Do you have the original CD for the older product (FP98/2000), if so have
you trying inserting it when install states that it can't find a qualifying
product and point the dialog to the CD drive with the over version?

no i do not have the Frontpage 2000 disc. only the 2002
version. but the thing is that i've installed this on
another computer before, without having any other previous
version of Frontpage. i just bought this 2002 version from
Fry's and installed it on my Windows ME computer. just
like that. so would i need to get a copy of FP2000 to use
FP2002 on my Windows 2000 machine?

Did you purchase an upgrade version or a full version. The full version is
the only version would install without need a prior version.
