Problem:

- Cannot install driver for desktop wireless-G PCI card.

- Have tried two different adapters now (Buffalo WLI2-
PCI-G54 and D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510) and it gives me
the same error message (An error occurred during the
installation of the device. The data is invalid.)

- Have researched Microsoft Knowledge Base (articles
306983 and 841567) to no avail. Articles suggest that I
don't have permission to load drivers. But after I
changed permissions, I'm still not able to delete the
subkeys in the registry as articles advised nor load the
drivers.

- Both manufacturers say it is an Windows 2000 OS issue.
One also suggested that my motherboard (Intel D850MV) may
not be PCI 2.2 compliant (it is) and maybe an older card
may work. I have their latest BIOS as well.

- Please advise resolution if you know. You can post
and/or email me at (E-Mail Removed). I'm
ready to go back to the good old reliable ethernet cable.

- Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Have the same problem and to make it worse now networking doesn't work even
with ethernet cable and my orgional adaptor. If this is a W2K issue some one
who has support needs to turn it in. I have an OEM copy of w2k and they will
just send me to the manufacturer. If anyone finds out exactly what the
problem is and how to fix it PLEASE let me know at (E-Mail Removed)
Thanks Eric
