Cannot install any new USB devices

I finally found the solution to the inablity to install any new USB
drives. It was found in this section, but is not obvious. Use
microsofts KB article

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;830552

to delete the C:\Windows\INF\INFCache.1 file.

I have a problem with a USB Memory Stick (name is "Kingston mines")...it
looks like it was installed yet I cannot find it on desktop nor can I open
it. A friend wants to use it on my computer and I think he produced the
material on a Mac....

Suggestions?
