I am getting an error:

"The application for project 'C:\Microsoft ASP.NET\SampleWebsite' is not
installed"

I have MS Visual Studio 2005 and MS Visual Web Developer 2005 express
installed on my machine.

exactly what application is this error referring to? and can I get around
this?

Did you open a sample ajax project? You also need additional tools to work
with ajax.The Ajax framework is available at: http://www.asp.net/ajax/
