Cannot Install 5N Printer

Everytime I log in to the network, my pc says new hardware
found and detects my hp5n (local printer). It then
proceeds to try to load drivers and fails. I have used
the drivers that come with XP, drivers for 5N from hp's
website, etc. Any suggestions on why it won't install
correctly or where I can get drivers that work? The
printer is listed but has limited printing ability, (no
graphics, blank page after every page). Thanks.
