Cannot insert a hyperlink anymore

Today my option to create a hyperlink does not work. I normally highlight a
url in my document to make it a hyperlink but today when i highlight the text
and right click and select hyperlink nothing happens. I tried to create one
in a new document and then in an Outlook document. Same result ... a right
click menu item that does not work.
