You shouldn't need to install any software for the camera but did Windows XP
recognize and install any drivers for
the firewire card? If so go to Control Panel -> System and look at the
device drivers to see if it is showing a problem.
If it didn't install any drivers then that is the likely problem, try
rebooting to see if it finds the card or maybe reseating it
in the computer. Also check the manuf. website for updated drivers.
