Hi All
I have jus installed a firewire card/port on a friends computer and am
trying to connect my video camera. I did this successfully on my own compute
a couple of years ago and could not remember what else i had to do.

As well as installing firewire do I need to install software for my camera?
I am plugging in my digital cid cam (JVC DX-100EK) but nothing happens.
Nothing in my computer and MM2 cannot find a device. I have no software for
this cam anymore and the Jvc website doesnt list drivers for downloads. Just
manuals

You shouldn't need to install any software for the camera but did Windows XP
recognize and install any drivers for
the firewire card? If so go to Control Panel -> System and look at the
device drivers to see if it is showing a problem.
If it didn't install any drivers then that is the likely problem, try
rebooting to see if it finds the card or maybe reseating it
in the computer. Also check the manuf. website for updated drivers.
