I had a lightning strike that fried an old system. I installed office 2000 on
xp and tried to import the old pst file. It is less than the 2 Gig limit at
848M but I get "Operation Failed" when I try to import. Any ideas?

Within Outlook, open the pst
The pst needs to be located on your Drive, eg Documents folder, do not copy
to the default location, also check that the read only attribute is off (in
Explorer)

Don't import but connect to the file via
File-> Open-> Personal Data File...

If that doesn't work either, check the file for errors with scanpst.exe.
