I tried importing my Outlook Express files that are on CD into Outlook on a
new machine. I removed the read only attribute, go to import internet
mail/email, select outlook express, deselect import mail. I go the location
on my hard drive where I copied the folder and The error msg keeps on showing
up stating the mail folder cannot be opened. If another application is using
this file, please close it and try again.

I do not have the option to recover the messages using my old laptop!

First configure OE with your backed up Outlook Express file. Then choose
Export from within OE to transfer the messages to Outlook.

Hi,

I no longer have outlook express on this new vista machine and the old one
is sold. Do I have another option for pulling the oe stuff off of my cd into
outlook. Or can I download oe onto a vista machine?

Thanks.

You can configure Windows Mail with your Outlook Express files.
