When I turn off my computer, I can no longer hear sound.
My Installation CD is labeled Sound Blaster Live! Value
Digital 1024 Software.
I can reinstall it and hear sound, but if I turn off my
computer, I cannot hear sound.
Under Help & Support, Fixing a problem, I have followed
all the steps using the Sound Troubleshooter to no avail.
Thank you for your help,
meadow

Hello Meadow,

I assume that you can no longer hear sound the next time
you turn on your computer, after having installed the
software, and later turning off your computer.

It may help if you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website
at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to Line 54,
(Save settings on exit)
Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "savesettings.reg"
then double-click and follow the prompts.

If this does not help, then I suggest you read
"Where did my sounds go?", at
"Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions and Answers"
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm
