I have a shared database that utilizes passwords for the users. Until
recently, I have been able to go into design view to change form design. Now
when I try to access design view I get an error stating someone else is in it
when that is not true or if I log in as someone else, it will tell me I,
under my original login, have it locked exclusively so I cannot make changes.
This is after I log out.

Ask around and make sure nobody *is* in the database; check the folder
containing it for a file with the same filename with a .LDB extension. If
there is one, delete it.

Thanks for the answer. Oddly enough, I came in this morning and lo and behold
I was able to get right to it. My guess is someone did not log out Friday
which going to the folder would have told me like you suggested.
