cannot go back after searching on a site

Lately if I search on a site such as amazon and the list of items I search
for appears when I click on an item and attempt to go back, ie gives me a
page cannot be displayed. Somehow its losing the information I searched for
and the results of the search. It happens on a lot of different webpages,
forums, etc. Anything that requires results from a search. It doesnt happen
on firefox so I know its a problem somewhere in ie. Can anyone help?
