I want to make windows mail work with my gmail account. At present if I
respond to a website email address this computer defaults to windows mail
which then sends me error messages and I have been trying to set up windows
for days now....Imap enabled, pop3 enabled, outlook express nothing ever
finishes. I just want to be able to use gmail alone and not have to trifle
with windows mail at all. I have spent three hours on the phone with HP
help and they couldn't ever tell me what I had to do to execute this
manually

Stop wanting to take WM out of the equation, set it up properly to do the
job.

3 hours with idiots, two minutes here and you are sorted.

Gmail claims they have a fix to set their webmail as the default
mail serve:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...n&answer=10966

Frankly, I don't think it works in Vista, but I've never tried it
since I dislike webmail.
