i recently tried to do a reinstall of win xp pro on my
computer and now i am stuck on the section where you must
enter a product key.
I have my product key that worked the first time i entered
it during the 1st installation but it does not seem to
work now.
any suggestions?

Look at it real good. B looks like an 8, G looks like a 6 and so on.

In the same position, put in my product ID and it won't take it.
Strange.

There are only two reasons why the product key would not be accepted at that
stage:

1) It is not the right type of key for your installation media. For
example, you are trying to use a volume licensing or retail product key with
an OEM install CD. Use the correct media.

2) You are not entering the key correctly. Watch out for 8 and B in
particular, I have found those easy to mistake for one anohter with the font
used on MS COA labels...
