New computer with Windows XP already installed. Currently
installed printer is Xerox XK50cx work center. Driver for
this printer was added from disk provided by Xerox.
Cannot get printer to print from Notepad. Also get a
message when rebooting about spooler subsystem. Have sent
this message to Microsoft. Made some changes to printer
properties and now cannot get back to properties. Will
also not allow printers to be deleted so I can start over.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The spooler loads drivers into it's own address space, so when the driver
crashes, the spooler crashes. Follow instructions at
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
(it has a section on how to do that if the spooler doesn't start anymore).
