XP clients have to use DNS to find the server. Then, to
access the Net the clients' DNS calls have to be forwarded to the ISPs DNS server. The key here is FORWARD. On your 2K server you have to "FORWARD" DNS calls to your ISP from the client. The default gateway for your client should be a router. Also, the clients default DNS server should be the 2K server. >-----Original Message----- >Did you configure RRAS with NAT? > >"Tom" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message >news:763a01c3e79d$5bc49f00$(E-Mail Removed)... >> Ok. Hi Tom,
Did you have a look at my reply to your other post? Because you have 2 nics, the 003 option should point to your server-IP. Also, the ipconfig on your external nic can never be right, because of the 2 different IP-ranges for IP and Gateway: 24.220.168.77 and 24.220.160.1 You better stick in a router between your external nic and DSL-modem. -- Regards, Marina Microsoft SBS-MVP "Tom" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:7a9801c3e7c9$7c2777f0$(E-Mail Removed)... > Sorry, forgot to mention that I have the forwarders to my > ISPs dns servers. > > Now, you say the default gateway for my client should be > my router. Marina, thanks.
So your saying there is absolutely no way I can do this without my own router? hmmmm... that makes sense and makes me learn what I need to learn. But when you say the 003 option should point to my server ip, do you mean the external or internal ip? Again, thanks. Now I'll just go get a Linksys router and I can set that up easily enough. >-----Original Message----- >Hi Tom, > >Did you have a look at my reply to your other post?
