Ensure the CD disk is absolutely clean. No dust, fingerprints etc. I have
exactly the same notebook and XP Pro clean installed with zero problems.
They work perfectly together.... although you'll probably need to go to the
Toshiba website after you do have it installed correctly to get the Smart
Media Bus Controller driver (for the smart media card reader, under the
combo CDR/DVD drive).
