Windows XP Home SP3

I cannot find hyperterm.

Hyperterm does not appear anywhere in Start/Programs. (I cannot find it in
the menu, and no file whose name begins with "ht" or "hyp" appears in
Documents and Settings/.../Start Menu/Programs/*.)

Hyperterm is not identified anywhere in Add/Remove Programs, Windows
Components.

I found these three Help files and Applet libraries under C:\WINDOWS\:

Any thoughts on how I can get hyperterm installed?
Any thoughts on why it's not installed?

I have Hyperterminal installed at: "C:\Program Files\Windows
NT\hypertrm.exe"

and the program is in the Start menu at: Start > Programs > Accessories >
Communications.

Any help? This *might* be a Windows XP Pro function but I'm not sure.

It also wouldn't surprise me if some OEM versions of Windows XP doesn't
include it. I just checked all 7 of my Windows XP machines and they are all
OEM versions of they all have it.

Yes, Hyperterm ought to be in Ciommunications, but in my system it's nowhere
in the Programs menus.

My Communications contains
Fax
Network Connections.lnk
Network Setup Wizard.lnk
New Connection Wizard.lnk
Wireless Network Setup Wizard.lnk

Perhaps you're just spelling it incorrectly.

Otherwise, Add it in Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components. It may not
be part of the default install for your system.

The XP Pro retail version has Hyperterm and the last 4 in your
list, but without the .lnk. XP does not include fax, so your
installation has fax in place of hyperterm on the menu.

Check to see if "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\hypertrm.exe"
exists. If it does, you can send a shortcut to the desktop if
you use it frequently.
