cannot find extend. dat

When I open outlook I get a message "an extension failed to initialise.
Cannot open extend.dat etc etc
Search cannot locate the file extend.dat
I am using Windows XP

It's at C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

you can paste this in start menu, run to open the folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
