Cannot find <executable> file

After moving an executable file from an NT V4 cluster to a
W2K cluster, an execute file shows the following
behaviour. When trying to run the file, I get a Cannot
find <executable file name> message even though I just
double clicked on the executable. If I make a copy of the
executable in the same directory, it runs fine. What is
going on here???
