Cannot eject my Notebook from docking station

Hi,
Suddenly got message "you cannot eject your computer because one of the
devices in the docking station "ECP Printer(LPT1) cannot be stopped because a
program is still accessing it". Nothing is connected to the docking station.
Somewhere I read I can disable the ECP port but don't know how. Can I
disable, undock and then enable? Is there a MS fix I can install. I did
install IE8 last week. I am running XP Professional SP3.
