Cannot e-install vista

I have Windows Vista basic edition upgrade. I first installed it ok and was running fine then my hard drive crashed.. I have another hard drive now and installed my win xp first and then put in my Vista upgrade. When I p[ut my product key in it tells me I cannot use this product key. Whay do I do now. I am lost????

Hello Tim,
Thanks for posting. From your post, I understand you have an activation question and are having problems entering your product key on a new hard disk. Significant hardware changes (such as a hard disk) often require you to reactivate. You'll need to activate by phone and explain your situation.
