I cannot drag email messages to the to-do bar when the to-do list in the bar
is grouped :-(

Is there any workaround for it?

Drag them to the Tasks or Calendar folder, depending on which you want.

Exactly what I was looking for as a workaround, thank you.

I hope MS will fix it in the future and allow dragging straight to the to-do
bar.

I tested it some more, the one downside is that adding emails to the to-do
bar via tasks/calendar bahaves differently than adding straight to to-do.

When I remove the email from inbox, the to-do item remains (wheras it is
also removed if added directly)
