I am able to browse the internet but when trying to
download anything I get the following error:

"Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet
site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot
be found. Please try again later."

I was able to confirm the sites I've been trying to
download from are fully functional by using another
browser. This problem occurs with either my cable
connection or my dial connection.

So far I have reloaded IE6, reloaded IE6 SP1, repaired
IE6 using SP1, and even reloaded XP Home. None of these
have solved the problem. In addition, I have scanned for
viruses, finding none, and removed Coolwebsearch.

Please help!!!

I have the same problem! I am glad you mentioned that
reloading of XP would not help as I was about to attempt
that!

I also have the same problem, and it's driving me insane.
I can't find any info on how to fix it.

Discovered the cause of the problem was a missing
indes.dat file in my Temporary Internet folder. Fixed
the problem by resetting the location of my Temporary
Internet file under Tools/Internet Options/Temporary
Internet files:Settings button/Move Folder.

Doing that generated a new index.dat file and everything
is fixed now.

Hi,
Did you find how to solve this problem? Some of our users
have the same issue.
