Cannot display the properties window

WinXP Pro SP2
I right-click on a file or a shortcut or even the desktop. I select
'Properties' from the popup menu...and nothing happens!
I recently started developing with SQLserver and VS 2005 and was pushing the
limits of my available RAM. My nephew the wiz-kid 'disabled some services I
didn't need' to free up resources. Could this be the problem? Is there a
service required to enable the property window?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Hello,

A lot of people have reported this issue.. here are some solutions

1) http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm (search for IIS W3ext
Module)

2) Try the registry fix located here
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(Line 203, column 2)

3) Using Zonealarm? Try uninstalling and see if the problem still exists.
Install to the latest version.

Thank you both.
slowrightclick.htm led to ShellExView which led me to the culprit - my
cellphone's utility package! My property window is back!
