Cannot display Address book in Outlook

I had to format my hard disk (Hardware problem) but saved the Outlook .pst
folder to a flash drive. After re-installing all my system software I copied
and pasted the Folder back to Documents and Settings/Local
Settings/Microsoft. I could not retrieve an address book but all my contacts,
calendar and mail were present. I tried Import and Export with Outlook
Express and I have an address book in that program but I cannot create one in
Outlook.

Hope you can help

Regards

Mr Ffeuen

If you overwrote an existing PST of the same name, you probably damaged your
mail profile and now the Outlook Address Book service doesn't work. The
first thing to check is whether or not the Contacts folder is enabled as an
address book. Right-click COntacts, choose Properties, select the Outlook
Address Book tab, and examine the checkbox labeled "Show this folder as an
e-mail Address Book". If it is unchecked but active, check it, stop and
restart Outlook and you should be OK. If it isn't active, you'll need to
create a new mail profile. See this:

Many thanks

It worked and when I imported from the Outlook.pst file all my data is there.

Never import from a PST. There's no need and you could corrupt your mail
profile again. Just use the existig PST in the mail profile.
