Cannot deselect a sound

I have used control panel to select "no sounds" and checked that none in the
list have a value except "none". I have done this to eliminate any risk of
an unwanted windows sound during audio recording.

I was surprised that if I leave the Windows Search Companion active the
avitar, e.g. the dog still manages to create an audible sound and I do not
know how to turn this off..

Please advise,

regards,

"nobody"

Simply don't use a character.

In Search Companion:
Click: Change preferences
Click: Without an animated screen character
"Rover" should turn tail and run away in silence.

You're welcome. --Richard
