Cannot delete task in to-do list

I am unable to delete a task in the to-do list. It will let me dismiss the
task when the reminder comes up (only comes up when another task reminder
pops up) but not delete or mark as complete. The error message is "the
message you specified could not be found".

I have run the .pst tool without success.

Help!
