Purging should delete the copy in the IMAP account. It won't move messages
ot deleted items, it just deletes the from the server. You do need to do a
send/receive pass for the delete to work.
POP3 accounts don't use purge - but if you delete the item in outlook it
should delete from the server on the next mail pass.
