Cannot Delete Macro

Although a newbie to macros, I attempted a record macro in a sheet I was
developing, and made a mess of it. I went to delete it by going to tools,
macros, list in this sheet, and delete. However, the delete button is grayed
out. Now each time I open the workbook excel tells me the macro is not
digitally signed, and I have to lower my security settings, etc. I would
like to just get rid of the macro, since it doesn't work anyway. Any help
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You didn't mention what version of Excel you are using. If it is 2003
or 2002, check out these instructions:

http://www.codeforexcelandoutlook.com/excel.html (search for "phantom
macro")

or

http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqMac.html#NoMacros
