What do I have to do to be able to delete any file I choose to delete from my
system? I have a personal PC in my home that nobody uses but me. Just who
the hell do I need to get "Permision" from to delete a file from my HD? This
Vista OS is ridiculous. I feel like I need a priest or maybe an exorcist to
accomplish what took the stroke of a key or two in the old days under DOS.

There are times when closing Windows Explorer, then relaunching it, will
allow a file to be deleted.

you might also try turning uac off (not recomended)it is a safeguard against
deleting important files .this os is designed to be idiot proof thats why you
get all the permission required windows even if you are an administrator

I see you point, but I don't consider myself an idiot, and I resent being
treated like one. I've used every version of MS Windows since it's first
release, and it seems every release looks prettier and performs less well. I
never thought I'd say this, but Vista has made me miss XP. Returning Fax &
Scan would also be a tremendous improvement to Home Premium.

Turning off that piece of crap, UAC, is a start. I've tried
everything and even under SP1 RTM, the only way to delete some files
is to reboot.
