Recently had to have hard drive replaced. Afterwards, Outlook was working
fine. Now, New in the tool bar is grayed out. Also, Actions - New Message
Using is grayed out. Can receive messages and Outlook Test Message works.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Paul.

I just had to fix this on another persons computer who had the same problem.
I found the answer at MS's site. Just don't recall the actual link.
But...the jist was:

Close OE
Copy your address book to a safe place.
Delete the address book in it's original place
Open OE again
It should create a new address book
Close OE
Rename those new address book files to OLD-....
Copy your copies from the safe place back into the OE address book location

All should work then. At least those procedures worked for her.

There is an excellent Outlook newsgroup - the best place
to post your question!

It would be much better for the OP to post his question
in an Outlook newsgroup. The experts there would be
aware that Outlook 2003 (see the Subject line) is not
quite the same as Outlook Express (which is what you're
dealing with). Outlook 2003 has no address book; OE has.
