Was having difficult with IE 6, and was advised to do a
repair-install. But when I followed instructions it threw
me into a complete re-install of XP-Pro.

After it completed, when I try to connect to the Internet
I am told there is no connectoid, and when I go to NETWORK
CONNECTIONS to set up a new connection, the option to
create a dial-up connection is grey-ed out.

Alternatively, when i run inetziw to set up a
connection, I get to step 3 of 3 where it says to name the
connection, and whatever name I choose I'm told it is
invalid.

I-re-reinstalled XP, and then went to the option INSTALL
OPTIONAL WINDOWS COMPONENTS, and attempt to re-install
NETWORKING SERVICES. It says that 3.0MB will be required
to install, but after te install, it says that only 0.3MB
have been installed.

Additional oddities

I run Quickbooks and have 4 different files. I always back
tese files up to CD-RW, and for about 2 weeks every
attempt to backup the largest (9MB) file has failed.

Any and all help and suggestions will be appreciated
