I have a client who is running Office 2002 SP3 and if they type a sentence in
Word and then copy that text into a new mail message from Outlook they do not
get the text pasted in the message. They receive an icon of a floppy disk.

I thought it was only one PC but it looks like its all 12 of them. Could it
be one of the Office Service Packs I've installed?

Any help from someone that has seen this before would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen this before -- it happens to me in Outlook 2003, only I get a
picture of a clock instead of a floppy disk. <g> I have just been deleting
the icon, pasting into one of the address fields temporarily (then using Cut
to get the text back out of that field), and re-pasting into the body of the
message. I will see if I can find out why this is happening and get back to
you if I find the answer.

Well, I have part of the answer. Apparently if the text that you've cut from
another application is considered to be an OLE object by Outlook, that's how
it will be pasted too, and will show as an icon if you open the Office
Clipboard. (I think Office XP had the clipboard function, but I'm not
positive -- as I said before, I use 2003).

The weird thing is, I just tried copying and pasting various things from
Word and even from this reply window into a new mail message in Outlook and
this time they pasted properly, as text. So I am still trying to find out
the secret to this. I'll post any additional information I get.

As long as someone else is getting this I feel better.
