Hi John,
The usual problem of not connecting directly to the
news servers at Microsoft is that you won't see the messages
come up in the order that they were submitted though the threads
will show them correctly threaded once received. Less common
is what you experienced is where the only messages you might see
are those submitted by other RR subscribers for a period of time
or some message may be lost forever. Checking Google Groups
with yourself as the author is a good idea if you don't see replies
coming in after a day just to make sure that it's not your connection.
If I look in your headers, I see that you are not connected
directly to the Microsoft news servers:
Path:
TK2MSFTNGP01.phx.gbl!TK2MSFTFEEDS02.phx.gbl!news-out.cwix.com!newsfeed.cwix.com!newscon02.news.prodigy.net!prodigy.net!nx01.iad01.ne
wshosting.com!newshosting.com!post01.iad01!roadrunner.com!not-for-mail
I see 8 hops (! marks) from one server to another
In Dave Peterson's there is only one and that is between
Microsoft servers and perfectly normal.
Path: TK2MSFTNGP01.phx.gbl!TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl
