Cannot copy and paste

's Computer Specifications

I have a Windows 2000 Pro box, that will not let me copy and paste from any
browser, including IE and Netscape. I also cannot copy and paste local files
on the machine. I tried to go to Windows update logged in as administrator,
and I get a blank page. Any suggestion on how to fix this problem would be
greatly appreciated.

I have a vague recollection that certain viruses cause this
type of behaviour.

's Computer Specifications

Ran the malicious software tool and nothing changed. Also ran most recent
version of stinger in safe mode, and no viruses were found.
