Cannot copy and paste images from web page into Word 2003

This worked until several weeks ago (November 2008 maybe). Now, when I copy
a web page and paste it into word, it saves the position and size of the
images, but not the images themselves. I have to go back and copy each image
separately, and then I can paste it into the document. I'd like to restore
the ability to copy and paste everything at once. In my Tools-Options
settings, View Drawings is enabled, and Print Drawing Objects is enabled.
The placeholder options are not selected.
