FP extensions are installed on a Website that was originally published using
FP 2000 on Win XP Pro.
I then installed XP SP2 and upgraded FP 2000 to FP 2003 in a general MS
Office upgrade - allowing Office to do the upgrading without uninstalling the
previous version.
In FP 2003 I opened the Website (from C:/) created in FP 2000 and tried to
Publish it to its host, http://deltamusicmakers.org.
The "Connect To" dialogue box does not log onto the remote Website.
The error box says: Unable to open http://deltamusicmakers.org Possible
causes:
1. FP extensions not installed
2. Server out of service
3. proxy settings may not be correct.
4. Error on Server.
I can log on using FTP in Windows Explorer using the username and password.
I have Windows firewall "off" as well as Zone Alarm "off." The Hit Counter
continues to work suggesting the Extensions are still installed.
My computer is a standalone with me as the only user and I have not
consciously set up any administrative controls.
I would appreciate any advice on how I can analyze and solve my problem. I
suspect I could publish using FTP, but would prefer the http to utilize the
FP components.
Thank you

Try to open you online site in FP (file Open Site or in IE File Edit w/ FP)
Also try to publish it to http://deltamusicmakers.org/

Opening the online site in FP from either http or ftp - is "Not allowed",
however, I find I can publish to the site from FP using ftp. The host server
technician thinks it is a FP extension problem that he will try to sort out.
In the meantime I shall get by publishing with ftp.

I finally solved my problem and am posting so that others do not go on wild
chase. When I updated FP 2000 to 2003 I imported all settings from prior
Websites. All screen names were wrong, some obvious, others very subtle. I
corrected the obvious, but overlooked the one that looked the same, but was
not. The wrong screen name prevented my log-in. So, there was no mysterious
SP-2 problem, http vs. ftp, front page extensions or anything else. Just an
oversight on my part.
